for hospitals. bringing us together again up next, mike allen with the political playbook. here's dylan dryer with a check on the forecast. >> we're talking about more snow in the northeast. this time around this is not a big storm, maybe a few inches. winter storm advisories are posted from northern arkansas right through tennessee and up into the mid-atlantic region. where is the storm right now? through louisiana and arkansas bringing mostly rain to the area. as it moves eastward it will wrap into colder air. the bulk of the storm is it staying offshore. it looks like rain along the immediate coastline from cape cod, massachusetts down into southern new jersey. that dark shade of purple is where we could see 3 to 5 inches. you you go inland further away from the storm and it looks like 1 to 3 inch. just enough to make it slippery for the weekend. today looks real nice across the northeast. we'll dry it out and look for sunshine and a little chilly but it's the end sdechl after all. that's your latest forecast. you're watching "morning joe" brewed by starbucks. this family used capital one

no delays. to get you more news faster we turn to kron 4 urs solo reporter mike pelton who joins us live from s f o. mike? >> a lot of traffic is moving here and there is no rain right now. more than 2 million people are expected to pass through s f o over the holiday travel season. many people today are leaving and heading home. right now there are no delays. we will continue to monitor any potential delays or problems as rain most of the area. a lot of these passengers are holiday travelers and they have three big suitcases. >> pg&e crews are working to restore power to customers in oakland this morning. off 385 customers remain without power at this time. the outage happened just before 2:00 this morning after a car struck a power pole on at worst ave. the crash knocked down both the pole and power lines. 6800 customers were rigidly without power. if pg&e expects full restoration with an hour. >> a san francisco won and will be arraigned today on charges of vehicular manslaughter that killed one pedestrian and injured two others in the twin peaks area. 56 year-old died last week. afte

, boston post, and the wall street thurmont. mike is joining us from lafayette, louisiana, independent line. caller: good morning. you're talking about the need for special forces, working in conjunction with other nations' forces. are we running the risk of creating a u.n. special forces or creating a new world order special forces group? guest: well, they have many partners about the world now. this is one of the focal points of the new commander's efforts, to pull together regional alliances of special operators to help do some of these projects, which lessens the burden on the u.s. special operations forces who they have been operating at a very high temple for a decade. i will give you one quick example. there are a lot of nato and east european in new zealand, australia, other countries have sent special operations forces to afghanistan. they have been working over the last decade. they're not all doing the killing, capturing, hunting, the unilateral trade missions. many of them are partnered with these special provincial response companies. they are special police units in 17 of the

channel mike seidel has made his way from oklahoma to upstate new york. hey, mike. >> reporter: that's right. we've been following my travels on the air with you on msnbc. in buffalo we picked up 11 inches, ending the snow drought and going into the storm, they only had 6 inches, and that said, they ended in good shape. it fell from 1:00 yesterday afternoon to 1:00 this morning and free and clear in new york. they used a lot of salt and a lot of plowing. they don't mess around up here. we still have issues today. talking about the outsider rondex. northern new england gets slammed with 12-18 inches of snow. burlington, the western suburbs of boston and loganton all wind and bangor, where the winds condition. checking laguardia and newark delays, about an hour to hour and a half. we still have a lot of cancellations today, upwards of 600. yesterday, we had over 1700 cancellations. things are improving slowly at the airports as snow winds down in buffalo. next system due in saturday, looking like a much weaker event especially in the northeast. maybe 1-3 inch in philly and new york cit
